Dion archeological site & museum

The Archaeological Park of Dion, near Mount Olympus, was a major sanctuary where the ancient Macedonians worshipped the Olympian gods, especially Zeus.
Its Roman houses are famous for refined mosaics, including the celebrated Dionysus mosaic.
It also preserves one of the oldest known hydraulic organs (hydraule), considered the earliest form of pipe organ in the world.
The Archaeological Museum of Dion displays statues, votive offerings, and everyday objects from the site.

Royal Tomb of Philip II of Macedonia

The Aigai Archaeological Site (ancient Vergina) was the first capital of the Macedonian kingdom and the royal burial place of its kings, including Philip II.
The underground Museum of the Royal Tombs of Aigai preserves the rich grave goods and frescoes discovered in the monumental Macedonian tombs.
The nearby Polycentric Museum of Aigai presents sculptures, inscriptions, and objects illustrating the political and cultural power of ancient Macedonia.
The vast remains of the royal palace—often called the palace of Philip II—dominate the site, highlighting the grandeur of the Macedonian court.

Edessa

Edessa, in northern Greece, is renowned for its charming historic center, with cobbled streets and traditional architecture. The town is famously crowned by its stunning waterfalls, which cascade dramatically through the city. Visitors can enjoy both the scenic beauty and the rich history that permeates every corner of Edessa.

Meteora

The Meteora is a spectacular landscape of towering rock pillars rising above the plain of Thessaly.
Perched atop these cliffs, centuries-old monasteries were built by Orthodox monks seeking isolation and spiritual devotion.
 Six monasteries remain active today, preserving remarkable frescoes, icons, and manuscripts.

Thessaloniki

Platamonas and Palaios Panteleimonas

The Platamon Castle  is a  Crusader castle built between 1204 and 1222 in Macedonia. The tower (donjon), which overlooks the highway, is an imposing medieval fortress.
Not far from Leptokaria, another curiosity is the beach bar ‘Gallaria’ settled at the entrance of an ancient rail tunnel. A fancy place to take Instragram pictures.
Near by, the old village of Palaios Panteleimonas is a perfect place to discover the traditional rachitecture of mountain village, enjoy the sunset on the riviera and do a shopping in the artisanal craft boutiques.
